About Anchor Pendulum Clock
The objective is to create and analyze a clock escapement wheel and pendulum system together. This Clock Project incorporates elements from various concepts of mathematics, physics, and engineering. The project focuses on the CAD and fabrication skills and also the ability to apply analysis to predict hardware performance. Steps leading up the final piece were starting with the students 3D modeling a Clock Escapement Wheel and Clock Pendulum using reference tutorials and incorporating a unique CAD design on the Fusion 360 platform. Using Fusion 360 built in properties and other measuring tools along with outside formulas provided, this allowed for performing theoretical calculations under the Pendulum Timing Analysis for point mass and rigid body analysis.
The reason behind performing these calculations is to attempt to understand the duration of time for the clock’s escapement wheel to make a one full revolution.
